Banksy Bear
Walking Canyon Road
Walking Canyon Road

In response to the isolation caused by coronavirus restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, March 2020–July 2021, Banksy Bear was conceived. Born of wood, cardboard, sealants and flat black paint, Bansky resembled much heavier metal sculpture but was lighter weight and more portable. When fully grown, Banksy began early-morning sojourns around Santa Fe, visiting the city’s well-known, but almost abandoned popular locations. Between jaunts Banksy often rested at the yards and gardens of friends. As the pandemic subsided and life in the city busied itself again, Banksy Bear moved to Eagle Bear Ranch, Mora County, to quietly enjoy the remainder of his natural life.
